Tony's Advertising/Country Store Auction

Ok, we wanted to buy everything at Saturday's sale...but we didn't! Here's a look at our nice...but little... pile of purchases.

On the table pictured above, you'll see a slant front display cabinet with blue sides. It's a lighted photo slides display! It was for Great Smoky Mountain National Park slides that were available for purchase at gift stores back in the day. It's really cool. So be on the lookout for some Smoky Mtn. slides...it'd be nice to have some to sell with the cabinet! We also purchased the wooden crate under the table. I love the old Arbuckle's Sugar crates and now I finally have one, yay!

Everybody loves taxi cab roof lights, right? I'll be sad when this one sells...it'd make a nice night light in Trey's room!

We love old stand-up cardboard signs...even more so than old porcelain and tin ones. This is a super clean Sun Spot beverages sign. Too cute!

Here's an old store rack for Kodak film. A perfect item for display with all our old cameras at the shows!

This is a super neat-o 1950s Vess Beverages advertising wall plaque. It's made of plaster and originally had a calendar attached to the bottom. Cute, eh? This was my favorite purchase, by far, because of the colorfulness and cute characters.

Tony McBride Auction Gallery- April 10th Sale

Pictured above is one piece of an antique walnut dining room set that once belonged to MGM Studios and was used as a movie prop back in the day...it is rumored that Mussolini once sat at one of the dining room chairs! This ornate 13 piece set sold yesterday at Tony McBride's Auction Gallery in Salisbury, NC for $45,000.00. Wish I was the lucky new owner!
