Tony McBride Auction Gallery- April 10th Sale

Pictured above is one piece of an antique walnut dining room set that once belonged to MGM Studios and was used as a movie prop back in the day...it is rumored that Mussolini once sat at one of the dining room chairs! This ornate 13 piece set sold yesterday at Tony McBride's Auction Gallery in Salisbury, NC for $45,000.00. Wish I was the lucky new owner!

An Authentic World War I Victory Liberty Loan Poster!

Here's Mike, pictured with his lucky find of the day...an authentic WWI Victory Liberty Loan poster, and it's already framed! It was purchased today at The Depot in Concord, NC. The poster is titled, "And They Thought We Couldn't Fight." It's a gigantic color lithograph, circa 1917. Clyde Forsythe was the artist. A smiling, slightly wounded American Doughboy clutches three captured German spiked helmets in his hands and radiates confidence for the folks back home. This is one of the few posters made in the large size. Mike had the eye today...he also found a super wide green bakelite bangle for me!

Finally, Spring is Here!!

These are photos of our booth last weekend at the Raleigh NC Fairgrounds Flea Market. The weather was perfect, so there were tons of shoppers! Our favorite sale of the weekend was to this young man, pictured below. We had an 1890s beaver top hat that was a perfect fit for him. How cute is he?!

Better than a Heart Shaped Box o' Candy!

For Valentine's Day, Mike took me to the Cabarrus County Arena for the Carolina Alpaca Show!

This little guy really wanted to go home with us....just look at that face!

But this is the one we really wanted to take home.... his coloring compliments our cats, Valentino & Coco. Thanks for a Happy Valentine's Day, Mike....I love you!

Keith's my Superhero!

Now I can get back to work, thanks to Mike's dad. His kick-ass moves crushed that evil win32 worm that killed my computer yesterday morning. Thank you, thank you! Watch out Etsy, here I come (sure wish I had Keith's cool camera AND his photography skills)...You ROCK, Keith!

Happy 12th Birthday, Trey!!!

The cake is finished, gifts are wrapped and school was skipped today. But what's a birthday without PartyBoy Mike??! He and Justin have been delivering auction purchases all day...from Wilkesboro NC to Greenville, SC. Trey's excited about the Mario Bros. Question Mark Block cake that I made at his request. He's already opened a couple of presents that he got in the mail today. Thanks, Faye & HarHar for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2...it arrived on time! And for the card filled with cash money! He's been playing the new game all day, only getting up to admire the cake in the fridge every once in awhile. Will post drunken party pix later.

This Daniel Seagle 5 gallon jug....

....brought $10,000.00 yesterday at Tony McBride's antiques auction....and I'm the lucky one who held it up for the crowd while it was being auctioned. Can you believe Tony trusted me with this?? Woohoo! Daniel Seagle (1805-1867) was the first master potter of the Catawba River Valley. Read more about him at http://danielseagle.com/home. Be on the lookout for this at US 1 Flea, Mon Faye & HarHar!
